LivestockSouk

First corridor: Europe → Morocco · Pregnant dairy heifers

Connecting livestock buyers and suppliers between Europe and MENA.Helping coordinate each transaction.

LivestockSouk is an early-stage service for North–South livestock trade. We help buyers in the Middle East and North Africa source animals, and help coordinate the steps the parties agree. We start with one corridor: pregnant dairy heifers from Europe to Morocco. Enquiries for other livestock and destinations are welcome; feasibility is assessed case by case.

The process in four steps

  1. Requirement
  2. Offer
  3. Preparation
  4. Delivery and payment reconciliation

Two entry points

One service, two sides of a project

For buyers in the Middle East and North Africa

  • Define your needs: the species, quantity, timing and delivery point you have in mind.
  • Investigate suitable offers from suppliers, starting in Europe.
  • Clarify costs and who is responsible for each step.
  • Coordinate the steps agreed with the parties involved.

For livestock suppliers

  • Introduce your supply and your organisation, from any country of origin.
  • Discuss buying requests that are relevant to you.
  • Clarify the scope of your offer.
  • Coordinate with the buyer and the other operators involved.

Where we start

Our first corridor: Europe → Morocco

We focus first on pregnant dairy heifers for buyers in Morocco. Starting with one corridor lets us learn its requirements, participants and practical steps in depth before extending to others.

Describe your own requirement

Beyond the first corridor

Other livestock, other MENA destinations

Looking for other animals, such as sheep, goats, camels, beef or breeding cattle? Or for a destination elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa? Tell us about your project. We cannot promise that every request is feasible: the species, origin, destination and applicable rules are assessed case by case before anything is agreed.

How it works

From a first description to coordinated steps

  1. Describe your project or supply

Tell us what you are looking for or what you can offer. Details you do not know yet can stay open.

  2. Clarify the requirements

Together we clarify the requirements, the participants and the questions that determine feasibility.

  3. Review offers and agree the scope

Offers are reviewed and the parties agree on scope and responsibilities.

  4. Coordinate the agreed steps

We help coordinate the agreed steps towards delivery and the reconciliation of payments between the parties.

This website only starts the conversation. Any coordination service is subject to a separate agreement setting out its scope, responsibilities and fees. LivestockSouk does not receive or guarantee payments for the sale of animals.

Scope

What we help organise

  • Requirements

Turning a project into a clear request that suppliers can answer.

  • Comparable offers

Gathering offers that can be compared on the same basis.

  • Participants

Identifying who is involved and who is responsible for each step.

  • Documents and follow-up

Keeping track of the documents and steps agreed between the parties.

About

An early-stage initiative

LivestockSouk is an early-stage initiative based in the Netherlands. We are building relationships between livestock suppliers and buyers in the Middle East and North Africa, starting with Europe → Morocco, one project at a time.

We work with buyers and suppliers directly. Where a project requires veterinary, regulatory, customs or transport expertise, that work is carried out by the qualified or authorised parties responsible for it.

The people behind LivestockSouk

  • Hicham Zmarrou

    Co-founder and CEO

Hicham develops trade opportunities between buyers and suppliers and leads each deal to completion. For every corridor, he makes sure the operational, compliance and regulatory requirements are identified and resolved with the responsible parties.

  • Abdellah El Hasni

    Co-founder and COO

Abdellah leads execution. Once a deal is agreed, he coordinates the practical steps with every party involved and follows it through to completion.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you only work with Morocco and pregnant heifers?

That is where we start. We welcome enquiries for other livestock and for other destinations in the Middle East and North Africa. Feasibility, applicable rules and our ability to help are assessed case by case.

Do you sell or own the animals?

No. In this initial phase LivestockSouk helps buyers and suppliers find each other and coordinate the steps they agree on. The animals are sold by the supplier to the buyer under their own agreement.

Can you give me an immediate all-in price?

No. A price depends on the specifications of the animals, the delivery point, the services included, availability and the conditions that apply. These must be established for each project first.

Do I need to be an importer already?

We make no assumption. We discuss your role and the operating arrangement that could suit your project. Submitting an enquiry does not establish that you are eligible to import.

Is an existing quarantine facility enough?

Its applicable approval, purpose, capacity and availability need to be confirmed for the specific project.

Do you guarantee export or import clearance, or payment?

No. Clearance decisions belong to the competent authorities, and LivestockSouk does not guarantee clearance or payment.

What does the service cost?

Scope and fees are agreed before any paid work begins. Submitting an enquiry creates no purchase commitment and no automatic fee.

Can suppliers contact you?

Yes. Farms, exporters and intermediaries from any country can introduce their supply through the supplier form. Our first corridor sources from Europe; other origins are assessed case by case. Export capability is not assumed.
